The Lead Pastor of Harvesters International Christian Center (HICC), Bolaji Idowu, is set to spend the night in police custody at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja. This development follows allegations of a ₦1.5 billion fraud linked to the prominent clergyman.

Earlier reports indicated that police operatives at the FCID had summoned Pastor Idowu for questioning in connection with the alleged financial impropriety. Sahara Reporters has now disclosed that a senior officer within the FCID confirmed Pastor Idowu would remain in detention overnight as investigations continue.

According to the source, the case originated from allegations against one of Pastor Idowu’s subordinates, who reportedly defrauded multiple individuals through a real estate scheme.

The police investigation allegedly traced billions of naira from the fraudulent scheme to accounts associated with HICC, and subsequently to Pastor Idowu’s personal account. Authorities are working to unravel the full extent of the financial trail and determine the pastor’s level of involvement in the scheme.
