Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife, former governor, Anambra state and head of the Igbo Elders Consultative Forum, has advised Nigerians, regardless of tribe or religion, to vote against candidates of Northern extraction.

According to him, voting a Northern candidate in the upcoming election goes against the Abacha constitutional conference’s 1996 recommendations for power rotation and sharing formulas.

Ezeife made this known in Abuja at a public presentation of a book titled:” Business Unusual: Postulating Peter Obi Presideny” in pursuant of Obi presidential ambition.

He pointed out that choosing a Northern candidate would further endanger the nation’s peace and unity.

After eight years under President Muhammadu Buhari, he emphasized that allowing another Northerner to win the presidency would constitute injustice and a breach of equality.

He , however, emphasized that it would be fair for power to rotate back to the South East having not occupied the presidency position before.

“I thank the young man who brought us here. I will not waste your time , I have something to tell you , I will call it a voting guide , I was Chairman Power Sharing Committee in the first National Conference we had,” she said.

“We in Nigeria today want to go to a system that works.

“For now our Bullion Van politics is enough, enough is enough.

“Where you are given money ,we don’t want it.

“Bullion Van politics dead because you are bought and have no mouth to complain. Bullion van politics was played by PDP and APC and they destroyed Nigeria,” he said.
