The G5 Governors popularly known as the integrity governors of the People’s Democratic Party are set to Storm Umuahia on Thursday, November 24th for the flag-off of Abia State electioneering campaigns.

This was revealed by the State Zonal Chairman/Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Amah  Abraham.

Addressing newsmen at the party’s secretariat in Umuahia, Amah revealed that the Abia State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party will on Thursday, November 24th, flag off its electioneering campaign for the 2023 general elections in Umuahia, the state capital.

He maintained that the ceremony will be like a political fiesta that would bring together all the PDP faithful in Abia, and the neighbouring states as well as Nigerians from different walks of life.

“Those that are being invited are staunch supporters of the state governor Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, who is the Abia South Senatorial candidate of the party and other PDP candidates.

“Invitations have also been extended to the PDP G5 Governors, who are the ‘Integrity Group’. They are Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State as well as the host governor and Governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu, He stated.”

The G5 Governors would grace the event in person as a mark of respect and solidarity with their brother governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, Amah added.

Amah further disclosed that the party will use the flag-off ceremony to present flags to candidates contesting for various elective positions in the 2023 general elections.

Answering a question, Amah stated that Abia as a PDP state is not opposed to the candidature of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the PDP’s Presidential candidate, pointing out that what it wants the former Vice President to do is to correct some abnormalities and one-sidedness-that are glaring in the party
