The vice-presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Datti Baba-Ahmed, has said that the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi will tackle Nigeria’s fuel subsidy scam in the first 100 days if elected.
Baba-Ahmed said this when he appeared on Channels Television’s election show, The 2023 Verdict on Tuesday.
“In the first 100 days, by the time we sort out the problem of the subsidy scam, and we are able to deploy Nigeria’s wasted funds into education and healthcare, you would begin to feel the impact,” he said.
Obi’s running mate also promised that the Obi presidency would reduce the cost of governance and plow the money back into developmental projects.
“You would see that the money that Nigeria has is delivering more –infrastructure, security, public service, health, education, and everything,” he added.
“From day one, we are announcing that we are removing personal, political, and group interests from Nigerian financial affairs.
“That will deliver more and multiply what is delivered to Nigerians.”
