The People Democratic Party (PDP) campaign Director General and former Deputy Governor Cross River State, Barr Efiok Cohbam, has approved the candidacy of Senator Professor Sandy Ojang Onor.

Efiok who made this known while he led the campaign team in consultation with the Chiefs of Odukpani LGA, noted that because of poor infrastructure, definitely, the poverty line has gone wide and longer, so much so that even our people are finding it difficult to move their products to the market.

The DG expressed regret that, It is unfortunate that the current administration has refused to continue from where it met, but also advised that government being a continuous project, must not tied to an individual .

According to him”Cross River State needs resocitation. The roads that we did during our tenure were not up to about 25%, the rest were ongoing jobs that we met.

He said “Infrastructure is one of the livelihoods. So as a government while building the future it must also consolidate the past .

Barr Cohbam who hails from the southern senatorial district of Cross River State Nigeria South south region where people are clamoring that by zoning the position of the state Governor ought to be their rights, commented on the Governor Ben Ayade failure to follow what he met.

“I am saying this with all sense of responsibility. When you see Cross Riverians come out to welcome us, they have seen what is going on in the past almost eight years. They are witnesses to what Cross River State was before the coming of the present administration.

“They are in the better position to assess which one is better, that is why you see they come out in their numbers to welcome us.

“In PDP, we are looking at somebody with capacity to take us out of the worst. And so the clamour for Governorship should come from the South, some feel the South have done, central did and now the North, that it should come back to the South is very different. He assumed.

He further explained that each senatorial district have had their fair share of eight years. The clamour is that it ought to have come back to the South. But ‘we’ need a government who can address the current challenges of the state.

He said however, those who need Government the most are not the richs and affluence who are in the urban settlement but for him and in PDP they believe in giving the job to the man who can do it better.

While affirming the campaign team’s support for Senator Sandy Onor before the Chiefs, the DG in their focus which he said has always been that of ‘Government should be taken to those who need Government the most, promised to bring good governance if elected into office.

“We are bringing in good governance. Good governance encompasses infrastructure, provision of security and welfare of the citizens.

“Infact, any government that failed in those two things have failed in all material particulars . The current Cross River State administration has failed in all material particulars.
