...assures adequate representation
Lucky Obukohwo Reporting
The Senator-elect for Edo North Senatorial District under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole has expressed his appreciation to the entire people of Edo North, both at home and in the diaspora, for the massive support which led to his resounding victory he recorded in the just concluded senate elections.
In a statement personally signed by the Senator-elect and made available to newsmen by his media aide, Victor Oshioke, said Oshiomhole said he does not take for granted the trust Edo North people have reposed in him by voting across board for the APC in the Presidential and National Assembly Elections.
He promised to give the people of Edo North good representation in the red chambers, like they have never had before.
He further called on the people not to relent until the job is completed, when all APC candidates are elected into the state House of Assembly for “a vibrant, independent and responsive parliament
“He appealed to those who did not vote APC in the February 25th election to come on board and use the opportunity of the rescheduled House of Assembly election coming up on Saturday 18th March to vote for APC candidates so as to guarantee that the full dividends of democracy that will come from the federal government, under President-elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu reaches all the rural communities of Edo State.
He reassured the people that the security agencies will ensure their safety on election day and that their votes will definitely count.
Oshiomhole expressed sadness that projects he started have been abandoned by the present administration.
“All over Afemai land, you trooped out in unprecedented numbers to vote for me and my party, the All Progressives Congress.
“Your votes represent a loud statement that Edo North deserves better, and I promise you that I will give you good representation at the red chambers of the National Assembly like you have never witnessed before.
“During my campaigns, I had the opportunity to see firsthand the decay that exists in many of our public institutions in Edo North.
“Apart from not improving on the solid foundations which I deliberately laid across the state over a decade ago as governor, even the infrastructure strategically built for the rapid development of our rural communities during my administration have not been maintained by the present government.
“They have mischievously been left to suffer decay in the past seven years since I left office.
“I want to, therefore, use this opportunity to remind you all that the job is not complete yet”, Oshiomhole said.
