Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has warned voters to stay off committing election offenses on voting day.
The country will on Saturday go to the polls to chose a new president as the tenure of incumbent, President Mohammadu Buhari expires May 29 this year.
But electoral umpire concerned about keeping the election free and fair and credible has rolled out check list of offenses people must avoid.
The Election Day Offenses listed by INEC are:
1. Campaigning for votes, or persuasion of voters not to vote for a candidate.
2. Shouting of slogans concerning the election, or in support of any party.
3. Being in possession of an offensive weapon or wear any apparel calculated to intimidate voters.
4. Usine a vehicle bearing the colour or symbol of a political party or candidate
5. Loitering at polling units without lawful excuse after voting or after being refused to vote.
6. Snatch or destroy any election materials.
7. Blaring of siren.
Be warned. Respect the rules of the game. You have only one vote. Allow others to have their say. There are no “veto” votes that carries more weight than the others
