Nigerian governors believe that elections may not take place in several northwestern states due to the geopolitical insecurity.

Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto, and Zamfara are the seven states that make up the north-west.

According to TheCable, the governors presented their viewpoint to President Muhammadu Buhari in a policy brief.

The governors also asked Buhari to investigate Bola Tinubu, the APC presidential candidatechoice ,’s of running mate and its impact on voter turnout and party commitment in the north-west.

They also demanded an evaluation of the results of the primaries held by the ruling party, as well as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP), and New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

Last month, Tinubu unveiled Kashim Shettima, former governor of Borno, as his substantive running mate in next year’s election.
