2025: Umeoji Buys N50m Nomination Form, Becomes First APC Aspirant for Anambra Guber

Hon. Chukwuma Michael Umeoji, representing Aguata Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has made history by being the first aspirant to purchase the All Progressives Congress (APC) nomination and expression of interest forms for the upcoming Anambra State governorship election scheduled for November 16, 2025.

Umeoji, however, did not appear in person; his representative collected the forms at the APC national secretariat in Abuja. This development was announced by the party via its official social media channels.

According to the statement, “Hon. Chukwuma Michael Umeoji, an aspirant in the November 16, 2025, Anambra gubernatorial election, has become the first to obtain his nomination & expression of interest form today, at the Party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.”

The official presentation was conducted by the Party’s National Organizing Secretary, HE. Muhammad Suleiman Argungu, in the presence of the Directors of Election Management & Organizing, Tasiu Mohammed and Ahmed Wambai Sulaiman.

Umeoji previously ran as the flag bearer for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the November 6, 2021, governorship election. His candidacy was overturned just a week before the election when Prof Charles Soludo was confirmed as the APGA candidate. This switch prompted Umeoji to leave APGA for the APC after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) replaced his name on the ballot with Soludo.
