Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai recently visited former Minister of Interior Rauf Aregbesola and Pastor Tunde Bakare in Lagos.
El-Rufai’s media adviser, Muyiwa Adekeye, announced the visit on X on Sunday, stating, “Malam Nasir @elrufai was in Lagos today to visit Ogbeni @raufaregbesola and Pastor Tunde Bakare.”
This meeting comes on the heels of El-Rufai’s visit to former President Muhammadu Buhari in Kaduna.
The Lagos visit has sparked speculation about El-Rufai’s political future and potential alliances ahead of the 2027 elections.
Aregbesola, a two-term Osun State governor and former ally of President Bola Tinubu, recently left the All Progressives Congress (APC) due to internal party conflicts in Osun State.
Bakare, a prominent political figure, was a presidential aspirant under the APC.
El-Rufai’s meetings have fueled speculation about his political intentions and possible alliances for the 2027 elections.
