Arsenal defeated Liverpool in a five-goal thriller thanks to Saka’s brace and Martinelli’s goal.

In the first half, the hosts took the lead twice through Martinelli and Saka, only to be pegged back by their tenacious visitors.

The Gunners, on the other hand, maintained their belief and composure, and it paid off when Saka scored again from the penalty spot. The Reds were unable to come back for a third time.

Arsenal have reclaimed first place in the Premier League from Manchester City. It’s only by a point, but they’ve scored in every league game this season and appear to be in good spirits.

Liverpool is still in 10th place with 10 points from eight games. This is their worst start to a season since finishing seventh in 2012-13. Their ongoing problems persist.

Arsenal now appear to be genuine title contenders, while Liverpool’s chances of mounting another challenge appear to be over. However, there is still a long way to go.
