Protesters in Edo State Labour Party Secretariat in Benin are hired touts alongside one or two disgruntled members who wished their imported greed and poverty from the PDP and APC would be solved by the party, one of the Labour Party’s state official hassaid.

Owan East nominated Coordinator for the Labour Party, Mr Francis Ohilebo and Mr Job Ozemoje have allegedly collected money from their sponsors and have been making case for an unknown former placeholder after election was conducted that produced Comrade Erasmus Ohi Ikhide in order to destabilise the party and the Obi-dient movement.

“We’re sourcing for a replacement for Mr Ohilebo for campaigning against themself, the Labour Party and the candidate that emerged in an election he supervised alongside other party members in Owan Federal Constituency which was well covered by the media.

“Their exit from the Labour Party will serve as deterrent to seasoned and jobless politicians who think it’s business as usual by positioning themselves to exploit candidates before they are elected into political offices.

“Mr Peter Obi’s and Labour Party’s style, strategy and tradition is in contrast with characters who viewed our rescue Nigeria mission as a platform to enrich themselves”, the party official said.

Owan East Coordinator of Take Back Nija Support Group, Comrade Ali Bashiru Stephen has distanced himself and the group from the protest, saying “we can’t be part of selfish politicians who do not mean well for our country.

“We’re not part of the protest against Comrade Erasmus Ohi Ikhide’s candidacy because we monitored the election that produced him and his name has since been published by INEC.

“Those who collected money from opposition politicians for the so called five persons protest to derail the candidate, Labour Party and Mr Peter Obi should be told that no amount of hired touts can stop the Obi-dient moving train”, Comrade Stephen.

The State Labour Party Chairman could not be reached at the time of filling this report.
