Following a viral video in which deceased Big Brother Naija housemate Rico Swavey was left unattended while a nurse filmed him during his last moments, the Lagos State government has commenced an investigation on the nurses and hospital involved in the act.
Recall that Truthlive.net had reported on a video in which the final moments of Swavey at Doren Specialist Hospital in Ajah, Lagos was being filmed by nurses instead of giving him the needed urgent medical attention.
The act has since attracted wide condemnation from members of the publics of the public and his colleagues.
In the video seen by Truthlive.net, one of the nurses attending to Rico Swavey, had him placed on oxygen as he was unconscious on a chair while filming him.
The nurses were said to be attempting to carry him on a bed when the nurse brought out a phone and started recording him. Another nurse was heard cautioning her colleague against the act.
She said, “You people should stop making the video; somebody is dying, you people are making video.”
Reacting to the video, a marketing strategist, Samuel Atigba, condemned the action of the nurses.
Rick Swavey whose real name is Patrick Fakoya, a 2018 Big Brother Naija housemate, had a ghastly car accident on Tuesday.
He unfortunately passed on, on Thursday as a result of serious injuries sustained during the accident.
Meanwhile, the State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, disclosed that the state government had commenced investigation.
According to him, “that hospital is not a government hospital; we have started an investigation into the unprofessional conducts of those who appeared in that video,” he said
However, it was gathered that Swavey did not die at Doren Specialist Hospital as he was only recuscitated at the facility and later moved to another hospital where he eventually succumb to the cold hands of death.
