The Lagos police PRO, SP Benjamin Hundeyin has said that they do not have any records of shooting or fatality on any of the EndSars protesters, who were protesting today at the Lekki Tollgate area of the state.
According Hundeyin in a series of tweets via his official Twitter handle, he said contrary to claims that shots were fired by police officers who came to the protest ground, only tear gas and water canons were fired at the Nigerians who became ‘lawless’ at the tollgate.
The PRO tweeted that movement went on uninterrupted until some protesters starting climbing on the toll complex which is against the law.
He further claimed that there was no contact between the police and the protesters, reiterating that no gun shoots were recorded at the scene.
Hundeyin further asked that anyone who has video clips as evidence to prove that there were incidents of gunshots fired by the Police officers on ground, should provide it, so as to aid further investigation on the matter.
