Paul Odama, new Commissioner of Police, CP, Kwara State Command, believes that abductors may go for their victims for reasons other than money.

He made this assertion in respect of the recent kidnap and rescure of Talatu Goma, a young girl of indeterminate age, who was abducted by Sanni Sule, male, 26, and Abdulsalam Kuta, also male, 20, both of whom have been arrested by police

The abduction happened in Shao, now fast becoming the kidnap capital of the state.

“From what we know, the kidnap of young Goma who is just a street hawker in Shao couldn’t have been about money.

“There are various other reasons why abductors kidnap people.

“In this case, and with the suspect all men, you could safely guess that they might just want to have their way with her since no ransome demand was made,” he said.”

Odama, since deployment to Kwara, has continued to post impressive crime bursting results in the state, what with his bias for introducing more of detective input in his policing methods.
