The Captain of the Ecuador national team, Enner Valencia who scored two goals to grab a win against the host country, Qatar was subbed off the match in the 77th minute after picking an injury.
The 34-year-old Ecuadorian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Süper Lig club Fenerbahçe and captains the Ecuador national team had netted two in the first 45 minutes of the World Cup opening match against Qatar.
Though, the status of his injury hasn’t been confirmed yet to know whether he will be available for the other consecutive matches ahead as he received two treaments on the pitch before being forced out by injury in the second half.
If he is ruled out of the remaining matches, it would be a huge blow for the Ecuadorian national team to play the remaining matches without their star captain.
