Portugal captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, has reportedly signed a record-breaking contract worth £172.9 million a year with Al Nassr, one of the biggest clubs in Saudi Arabia.
Recall that earlier this month, Ronaldo’s contract with Manchester United was terminated as a result of his contentious comments in a TV interview, as reported by Truth Live News.
The 37-year-old reportedly reached an agreement with Al Nassr for a two-and-a-half year contract worth £172.9 million annually, according to the Spanish newspaper Marca.
Sources close to the Portuguese insist that no agreement has been signed and that Ronaldo is still concentrating on competing for his nation at the World Cup.
According to reports published in Spain yesterday (Wednesday), a deal has been reached.
Ronaldo pushed for a transfer away from Old Trafford in the summer but was unsuccessful because he was adamant about playing in the Champions League.
Last summer, he turned down a move to Saudi Arabia, but without any firm interest from Europe’s top clubs, he now appears destined to make the transition to the Middle East.
