Regarding the daily and weekly cash withdrawal limit issued by the Godwin Emefiele, the governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Reno Omokri, the former aide to Former President, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, has spoken in support of the new policy.
Recall that Emefiele has issued a new withdrawal policy of 20,000 daily and 100,000 weekly and this has since sparked controversy amongst Nigerians who insist they spend more than 20,000 daily.
Reacting to the new policy on his social media page, Omokri said, besides buying groceries and paying for transportation, no Nigerian actually needs more that 100,000 weekly.
He wrote:
“There is no Nigerian that need more than 100k cash weekly.
“Other than paying bus conductor or buying groceries, everything can be done cashless.
“It is kidnapper, bandits and sexual bandit (urgent 2k girls) who are fighting this policy using godfather.”
