The good people of Edo North have poured out prayers for Chief. Dan Osi Orbih, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Vice Chairman, South-South for redeeming their hope of a gleeful celebration in this festive season as he commenced his annual distribution of yuletide incentives.

Chief. Dan Orbih who is a man of the people and a philanthropist with international repute, in his magnanimity has commenced the sharing of bags of rice and other gift incentives to thousands of women in his hometown, Ogbona in Etsako Central local government area.

Chief Orbih, while speaking to Truth Live News in a phone conversation stated that women and youths from other local government areas in Edo North will be at his country home in Ogbona on Thursday for the same yearly support he decided to be embarking on a decade ago to put smiles on the faces of the downtrodden during the yuletide season.

Thousands of women had journeyed from different quarters of other villages in and around Ogbona to pick up their bags of rice, wrappers and other support material to make the season memorable in what has become a yearly tradition the people look up to in Edo North at large.

Chief Orbih in his humility was present in person to perform the official presentation of the bags of rice as well as other incentives like wrappers to the people.

Despite the large turnout, none was left empty-handed as all the women went home with at least a bag of rice.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to Bee TV described Chief Dan Orbih as a unique breed of person who has thought so humanly to distribute the bags of rice to thousands in this harsh economy.

In his remark, Chief. Dan Orbih, the rationale behind the yearly rice and other items distribution is to give back to the community that raised him and also to fulfill his Christian belief of giving.

Chief Orbih added that the time has come for governments at all levels to live up to their responsibility for social welfare.

He said, “Well, it is a continuous exercise really, tomorrow we have another outing with people coming from different local governments in Edo North Senatorial district.

“I will also like to use this opportunity to reach out to other people to see how much they can do within their own area.

“Governments at all levels must rise up to their social responsibilities to the people of this country.

“Today, we’re talking about insecurity, we’re talking about government insensitivity to what the people are going through at all levels. And, this is not even about political party, it’s about those who are entrusted with the responsibility of rendering services to the people living up to their commitments. It is on this note that I feel the government should be challenged by the difficulty that people are going through at the moment.”

The beneficiaries, young and old have poured out heartfelt prayers for Chief. Dan Orbih over his large heart of philanthropy.

One of the beneficiaries said, “Every year, he use to remember us. He makes us feel happiness every year, and we pray to Almighty God to reward him”.

Another beneficiary said, “Anywhere he goes, may God follow him there in Jesus’ name”.

Another said “Chief Dan Orbih is so precious to us that every year he surprises everybody in this community”
