Diaspora Cross Riverians In Canada Pledge Support For Sandy Onor, State, Nigeria

Diaspora Cross Riverians In Canada have formed an umbrella body called Cross River State Association In Diaspora, and pledged Support to the PDP gubernatorial candidate, Professor Sandy Onor, the state government and Nation at large.

At a formal get-together heralding the formation of the group, the association said a critical component of the approach is to have a sense of belonging, and as well give back to the state by supporting cross Riverians who intend to travel abroad.

The leader of the association, Dr Ugabi who is a medical doctor and an indigene of Ogoja local government area of Cross River State also the first cross riverian to migrate to SJ, NB, Canada commended the governor Senator (Prof.) Ben Ayade for his industrialization drive as well as his efforts towards ensuring that the state remains safe for tourism.

Dr Ugabi who is the first Cross Riverian to migrate to SJ, NB Canada extended his applause to all senators in the state who have in one way or the other impacted lives positively in their different senatorial districts through services to humanity.

He also commended the former governor of the state Mr Donald Duke whose legacies have remained the platform which still earns the state global recognition as a tourists attraction adding that as a group, they are bound by a common destiny to demonstrate full solidarity with the state and the nation through active engagements and collaborations that will amplify the good works in the developmental strides of the state and the Nation at large

A member of the group, Richard Otu Bassey from Calabar municipality local government area of Cross River State who gave a brief political history of the state advised Cross Riverians to collectively make Cross River better for generations after to benefit.

Highlight of the event which was the first physical meeting of the group was rendition of the state anthem and group photographs.
