Edo Terrorists Train Kidnap: Onolememen Condemns Attack, Calls On Security Agents To Rescue Abducted Travelers

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Senatorial Candidate for Edo Central Senatorial District, Dr. (Arc) Michael Oziegbe Onolememe Ph.D. CON, has condemned the kidnapping of scores of passengers waiting at the Igueben train station on Saturday in Igeube, Edo State, South-South region of Nigeria.

 

 

In a statement made available to Truth Live News through his media aide, Comrade Elempe Dele, the former Minister of Works condemned in strong terms the attack and kidnapping of waiting passengers who were Warri bound by suspected bandits who have been attacking commuters on Nigerian roads and railways.

 

The statement reads in parts: “Last year, the Kaduna bound train was bombed where some passengers lost their lives and others were kidnapped in the deadly attack. And it is sad that this year, these criminal elements are on it again, emboldening their criminal acts.

 

“This dastardly act must be condemned in its entirety as this does not have any position in our modern world. People should be able to go about with their legitimate businesses anywhere in the country without fear of being kidnapped.

 

 

“As a matter of urgency, the security operatives must immediately swing into action to rescue the whole kidnapped victims. In addition to this, the assailants must all be apprehended and brought to justice for their crimes against innocent citizens.

 

“Governments at all levels with security agents must synergize to have a proactive approach towards averting these kinds of attacks in the future so that innocent citizens can have confidence in our mass transit system.”

 

 

The Adolor of Uromi Kingdom condoled the families of the victims and hoped that their loved ones will be reunited with their families as soon as possible.

 

The former minister of state for defense wished a speedy recovery to those who were harmed during the attack.
