Duo of Sen Dino Melaye and Sen Ehigie Uzamere, spokesman and Special Adviser to Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate for 2023 election under the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, respectively, may have inadvertantly provoked a more damaging call out for their principal from Michael Achimugu, a man who claims, with authentic reciepts, to be Atiku’s former media assistant.
In a video log now trending on various social media platforms, Achimugu lobbed damaging corruption allegations against Atiku.
One of his claims, backed by an audio recordings, purports that the former Vice President recieved N100 million from former governor of Plateau, a North Central State in Nigeria with which he created a special purpose vehicle, SPV, to launder the said money.
Dariye, has since been convicted, served some years in jail term but was recently pardoned by President Mohammadu Buhari.
As also stated in the audio with a voice resembling that of Atiku, the bribe money were hidden in three fronted companies headed by Andy Uba, Otunba Fasawe and third individual.
But in attempt to dismiss Achimugu, Melaye, in one of his satiric video said the former media aide is a cheap blackmailer only looking for small handouts.
He asked Achimugu to produce a letter showing that he was ever engaged by Atiku.
In a similar refrain, Sen Uzamare challenged him to produce proof of ever being engaged by the former vice president.
“He should have shown us his letter of appointment, told us his office and designation, and not just a picture of him standing beside Atiku,” Uzamare challenged in press release.
But in quick repost, Achimugu released series of documents, signed by known associates of Atiku like Chief Alioghor Dokpesi, ex Governor Gbenga Daniel and Mohammed Atiku Abubakar, son of the former VP, purporting some media related engagements to Atiku’s campaign since 2018 to as recent as last year [see documents].
There were also email and social media posts with pictures that appears to authenticate his claims.
In a second video, Achimugu promises to release more details of shody dealings of the former VP and a sworn affidavit he has made of things he witnessed while working for Atiku.
