Ajax Amsterdam Football Club have sacked their head coach, Alfred Schreuder after the Dutch club have been struggling to gain a balance in the Dutch league.
Alfred who had joined Ajax last summer from Club Brugge after Erik Ten Hag left the club to sign a deal with Manchester United has been fired by the club in what they say is “painful but necessary decision”.
Ajax under his management have knocked out of the Champions League and are fifth in the.
Ajax have not won any match in the league since October 22, 2022 and his sack decision was made after 1—1 home draw to Volendam.
Ajax chief executive Edwin van der Sar speaking on Alfred’s sack as provided in the club’s website noted that it was a “painful but necessary decision” to relieve Dutch football coach of his duties.
He said, “This is a painful decision, but it’s necessary. Regardless of the good start to the season, we lost a lot of unnecessary points.”
“The football itself was precarious too. We gave Alfred our time and trust to change the way things were going.
It became clear to us that he could not change the tide.”
