Controversial traditional ruler, Mallam Mohammed Sanusi, who served as 14th Emir of Kano until his unceremonious removal, on Wednesday, paid visit to his former domain, Kano, after three years of his dethronement by the state governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

Sanusi II, who doubled as the Leader of the Tijjaniyya Order in Nigeria arrived at the Aminu Kano International Airport moved straight to his mother’s residence which is located along the Ibrahim Dabo Road.

In a video footage seen, former governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in full emir regalia, was seen exchanging pleasantries with different delegations of family members, traditional title holders and well wishers.

It was however gathered from sources in the city that the deposed emir was on his way to Dutse, the Jigawa state capital on a condolence visit to Dutse Emirate Council over the recent death of 78 year old Emir, Late Muhammad Nuhu Sanusi.

The sourses who preferred anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the visit further confide in Truth Live News that while in Dutse, Sanusi II would pay a courtesy call on the new Emir of Dutse, Hameem Nuhu Sanusi.

The former paramount ruler of Kano was deposed March 9th, 2020, on allegations of insubordination, and was subsequently banished by the Governor of Kano, Ganduje to Awe in Nasarrawa State.

But a Federal High Court in Abuja subsequently declared as “illegal, unlawful and unconstitutional” the action of the sitting government.
