House Reps Candidate, Ibrahim Mohammed Ajia, has assured voters in Ilorin of adequate security on Saturday when they come out to cast their votes.
Ajia, an ex cop, retired after a distinguished career is contesting the sit for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, House of Reps seat for Asa/Ilorin West federal constituency.
Making this call, the retired senior police officer reiterated his implicit confidence in the Nigerian Police to provide adequate security.
“Nobody will be intimidated on election day, that I can assure you,” Ajia said.
The party candidate is also a renown security expert.
He had spoken in response to growing tension in the country sequel to the scarcity of new naira notes and the concomitant hardships people are going through.
“I want to urge our people that they should not be intimidated by anybody, arrangements have been put in place to ensure security of lives and property.
“The Inspector General of police is working around the clock, he will be supported by other security agencies in Nigeria, nobody can intimidate you before, during or after the elections.
“All the plans of people trying to introduce thuggery, violence on the election day are just mere jokes because whoever tries that, we will make sure that the arms of the law catches up with him or her, we will not only deal with them, we will ensure that even their families are prosecuted because it will be considered as a conspiracy against the country,” he said.
