The spokesperson of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), human right activist and Finland Politician, Simon Ekpa has been reportedly arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation in Finland, (KRP).
Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) is a separatist movement agitating for Biafra in southeastern region of Nigeria, headed by Mazi Nnamdi Kalu.
Truth Live News gathered that Simon Ekpa, had called on millions of southeastern people to boycott forthcoming Nigerian general elections from February 23 to February 28.
Recall that earlier in February, the Federal Government summoned the Finnish Ambassador to Nigeria, Leena Pylvanainen, over the “hate speech and incitive comments” made by Ekpa.
At the meeting with Pylvanainen, Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Geoffrey Onyeama said Ekpa’s action was fast becoming a threat to the forthcoming election, and that the Federal Government would not take it lightly with him and the Finland government if nothing drastic is done.
Before his arrest on Thursday, many Nigerians had signed a petition appealing to the Finnish government, Nigerian Government and the European Union to arrest Ekpa, the brain behind the sit-at-home order in the South-East.
His repeated sit-at-home order has been marked by bloodshed and destruction of lives and properties in the region by its enforcers.
Today, February 23, it was reported that Ekpa have been apprehended by the Finnish security operatives.
More details shortly.
