The Nigeria Under-20 national football team popularly known as the Flying Eagles to end their campaign at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) U-20 tournament as they mercilessly beat Tunisia 4-0 to grab the bronze medal.
The Flying Eagles whose hope of an additional U-20 AFCON tittle to up the historic record eight were dashed by Gambia on Friday wrestle with North African country for the third place in the U-20 AFCON tournament.
Nine minutes into the match, Ibrahim Muhammed put the Eagles on the lead as Tunisia put effort to end the first half 1-0 nill.
Few minutes into the second half, Ahmed made it 2-0 and in the 49th minute, Jude Sunday was on the scoresheet to make the score 3-0.
The classical young midfielder, Sunday adds another to make it 4-0 in the stoppage time to end the campaign for the North Africans on a sour mood.
The Flying Eagles are looking forward to a brilliant campaign at the FIFA U20 World Cup in Indonesia between 20 May and 11 June 2023.
