The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has congratulated Nigeria’s Flying Eagles on their bronze medal win over Tunisia at the 2023 U-20 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.
On Friday, March 8, the Flying Eagles defeated Tunisia 4-0 at Cairo International Stadium.
Ibrahim Muhammad scored the first goal of the match in the eighth minute, and Ahmed Abdullahi made it 2-0 in the 46th minute. The Nigerian team sealed the victory thanks to a brace from Jude Sunday.
Now, Nigeria have won the bronze medal at the tournament three times.
CAF however took to Twitter to congratulate the Nigerian U-20 team.
“NIGERIA ACHIEVE A PODIUM FINISH The Flying Eagles are the #TotakEnergiesAFCONU20 bronze medalists for the third time,” the Tweet reads
The final will be played on Saturday, March 11, at the Cairo International Stadium between Senegal and Gambia.
