Onisojin Chuks Festus, chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ahoada West, Rivers State, has defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Festus’ defection comes just days before the much-anticipated governorship election on March 18th.
The former APC member had met with State Governor Nyesom Wike to formalize his defection.
Festus described the APC as a “fragmented party” in response to his departure.
He went on to say that the party had no chance in the state’s gubernatorial election on March 18th.
This new development is a major setback for the APC but a boon for the PDP’s Rivers governorship candidate, FUBARA.
