……. ‘Both sides of the coin’..
Since the Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress lost out in some quarters in the just concluded presidential, national assembly, and the state house of assembly elections, there have been gales of suspensions in the party at the altar of alleged anti-party activities in the state.
The other time, it was Chief Francis Inegbeniki and others. The recent is, Samson Osagie, a former Minority Whip, representing Uhunmonde/Orhionmwon federal constituency in the House of Representatives and eighty others.
Speaking with Truth Live News via the phone, Samson Osagie, known to be a close political associate to the former national chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole, said his alleged suspension is borne out of jealousy.
He alleged that some members who want to be close to the former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Â are the ones that had masterminded his suspension.
He said: “this group of persons is not happy with me because of my network of friends which spread across the length and breadth of Nigeria and my direct contact with the nation’s President’s-elect, Ahmed Bola Tinubu”.
He also said that with the status he has attained in the party, he should have been able to have connections with top members of the party both national and at the state levels maintaining that those who have been brainwashed in his local government, Uhunmonde to say that he has never won his unit and ward in any elections, but yet he gets the best position in the party should have a rethink and jettison the pull him down syndrome.
But speaking with another party chieftain who did not want his name mentioned, Truth Live News learned that top on the list of reasons why Osagie is face turmoil in the party is his seemingly or unwittingly disregard for the leadership structure in Edo State
The APC chieftain said: “We have a leader in this state and by all standards could be regarded as a national leader, but Hon Osagie is using his contacts with Hon Faleke, who’s a known ally of Tinubu to undermine our leaders.
“The same Osagie who has not been able to win his unit let alone his ward since 2019 is lobbying for a national appointment when he couldn’t even deliver his unit for Asiwaju, the source asserted.
However, the source close to Osagie said what he (Osagie) gets is for the pride and betterment of the Uhunmonde people and that they should be proud of that. Especially when Osagie has used his position in the past to assist many sons and daughters of his constituency and Edo state at large.
The source pointed an accusing finger at on of the party leaders who operate from abroad but always want to control the party affairs from his location outside Nigeria.
“He came during the elections but before the elections were over he had ran back to his base abroad, but set mechinaries in motion to cause commotion in the party, they will all fail, the source further stressed”.
Truth Live News gathered that the former Minority Whip’s loyalty to his party is never in doubt and that he is so committed to the growth and progress of the party.
