The national leadership of the Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has disowned the newly formed Northern IPAC Chairmen Forum, describing it as an Illegality.
It also queried IPAC Plateau State Chairman, Abubakar Dogara, over the formation of the body, demanding reasons disciplinary actions “should not be taken against him along with other officials found culpable in this gross misconduct”.
IPAC National Secretary, Yusuf Dantalle, in a statement to Daily Independent on Wednesday, cited Dogara’s misdemeanor to include the creation of the Forum which he said is “in clear violation of the Council’s Code of Conduct, which only provides for National, States and Local Government Areas structures, and issuing a press statement which was outside his jurisdiction using the same illegal body on matters of national interest already addressed by national leadership of IPAC”.
The body also disowned the “Forum of Ex-IPAC Officers’, stating that it is illegal and unknown to IPAC Code of Conduct, as it warned stakeholders to desist from dealings with the purported forum.
The statement further cited a letter dated 3rd April 2023, and copied to INEC Chairman, National Chairman of Political Parties, Inspector General of Police, Director General of Department of State Service (DSS) and Civil Society Organizations; where Dantalle urged security agencies to take necessary action.
