PHOTOS: C’River Sen-Elect Ekpenyong Attends Meeting With IMF In Washington

The Sen-Elect for Cross River Southern Senatorial District Mr. Asuquo Ekpenyong Jnr. has been reported to be among the economic team who attended a meeting with the World Bank/International Monitoring Fund (IMF) team in Washington.

Truth Live News gathered that the commissioner who flanked by the team members in pictures was in the annual spring meeting currently holding to discuss very critical issues facing the global economy.

The meeting is said to be slated from Monday April 10th through 16th of April 2023.

A report by Ekpenyong’s verified Facebook page has it that top in the agenda include rising inflation, food and energy crisis, war in Ukraine, and the worsening global poverty rate.

The All Progressive Congress APC, Sen-Elect who is also the current Commissioner for finance to Governor Ben Ayade is said to be in the Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed entourage among others.

According to the page, the meeting has brought together policymakers, international organisations, and private sector operators.

However, the reports made available on his Facebook page, in part reads, “the World Bank/ International Monetary Fund annual spring meetings are currently holding in Washington DC.

“The Federal Government delegation to the event is led by the Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed and also incorporates members of the economic team of the President- elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu led by Mr. Wale Edun.”
