The Governor-Elect Sir Siminalayi Fubara, of Rivers State has congratulated the Muslim community over celebration of this year’s Eid El-Fitr.
Fubara in a statement by his media office said on Thursday that this year’s celebration is unique as the nation prepares for another period of a smooth transition.
As we pray for peace in the nation to manage the processes that will lead to a successful transition and the deepening of democratic values in the country, Sir Fubara called on the Muslim faithful to uphold the tenets of Islam and the obligations of Ramadan.
According to the statement, he said “as this Eid El-Fitr is to mark the end of Ramadan and commencement of Shawaal, It is important that as the nation is transitioning from one civilian government to another, we must all play our role to deepen democratic values to move our nation forward. ”
He urged the faithful to pray for the peace of our beloved nation as we move towards another period of handover.
Sir Fubara went on to commend the Muslim community in Rivers State for their massive support and assured them that the interest of all people will be covered by his administration.
