The Governor of Rivers state Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, has said that if Siminalaye Fubara’s administration fails, it will mean that all that made it possible for him to emerge as the next governor, have failed.

Wike said this at a Public Lecture and Book Presentation in his honour in Port Harcourt, south south Nigeria.

He also said on Thursday that he believes the governor-elect Siminalaye Fubara and his deputy governor-elect, Prof. Ngozi Odu “will do very very well,”

While addressing the audience at the book presentation, Wike said that Fubara is somebody they can rely on and that he could tell them that his yes is yes.

At Dr. Obi Wali International Conference Centre where the book launch was held Wike, went on to say that Fubara is “an accountant” and he is very conservative.

He said he does not spend money anyhow, he said he can only spend the money where he knows it will be useful.

According to Wike, “Fubara is a very good person, he has a style different with my style but what’s important is being able to deliver what will make our people to be happy, So, don’t rate us as the same.”

“When people were struggling to be governors, he continued “Fubara never one day came to me to say sir, I am interested.”

He said only those who don’t have the interest of the State were those masquerading themselves, running around to be made governors.

He said they were those whom he knows that they would sell the State the next day and he said that he thank God they have all left.

“If Rivers people were not in support of our administration, Wike said “we would not have been encouraged to do what we have done.”

“And so, I say to all of you our leaders, Rivers people that I appreciate every support you have given to us since 2015.”

While appreciating the former governor of Rivers state Dr Peter Odili, for writing down the list of things he should avoid if he wanted to succeed, Wike said that the list was “a great helped” to him.

On his part, Prof. Julius Ihonvbere said “In terms of infrastructure, there is no one in the history of the State that you can compare comfortable with Wike”

The academia while presenting the 2023 inauguration lecture entitled “Democracy, Transformational leadership and sustainable development: The Rivers experience,” described Wike, like a “man in a hurry to finish an assignment,”

He said he has unleashed massive interventions, often at great cost, on practically every sector especially health, education, administration of justice and rural development.”

Dr. Odili, former governor of Rivers State who unveiled the four books that were written in honour of governor Wike, described him as a phenomenal leader who confronted leadership challenges and came out of them victoriously.

The Vice Chancellor of Ignitius Ajuru University of Education, Prof. Okey Onuchukwu said the books depicted the kind of leadership styles that governor Wike provided in driving development to meet the present and future needs of Rivers people.

Truth Live News learned that the four books presented to the public were, “Leadership, governance and sustenance in Nigeria, Edited by Prof. Okey Onuchukwu and Prof Chinedum Mmom, and “Transformational Speeches of governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike. Edited by Barr. E.K Beredugo.”

The other books are, “Educational and Sustainable Development, Edited by Florence Ataka”, and “Nyesom Wike, Leadership Strategies in governance, faculties and testimonials. Edited by Eric Osagie.”
