Hoodlums Hijack Ibadan Radio Station

Some hoodlums have hijack a community-based radio station owned by the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) in Ibadan.

It was gathered that the radio station, Amuludun 99.1FM was hijacked around 6 am on Sunday.

According to a report from Radio Nigeria, Truthlive news learnt that the hoodlums, who are around 20, invaded the station with different types of charms and started their live broadcast.

They broadcast for about an hour before the joint teams police, operation burst, and Nigerian Army troops arrived and took the station away from them.

During the recovery operation five suspects were detained and taken to the Oyo State Police Headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan for interrogation.

The General Manager of the station, Mr. Stephen Agbaje who confirmed the incident to newsmen, said that Security Operatives have restored normalcy to the station and that Amuludun 99.1 FM has resumed live broadcast of programmes.
