On Monday, Sir Siminialayi Fubara assumed office as the Governor of Rivers State, while Prof Ngozi Ordu became the Deputy Governor.
Fubara’s inauguration took place precisely at noon, following the administration of the oath of office by Justice Simeon Amadi, the Chief Judge of Rivers State.
During the ceremony, the former governor, Nyesom Wike, was invited to the podium where he addressed his successor, saying, “Your Excellency, as the newly appointed governor of Rivers State, I present to you the state flag and the handover notes as symbols of authority and responsibility.”
More to come.
