President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has intervened in the ongoing brew between the Department of State Security and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Tinubu ordered the DSS to leave the office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Ikoyi, Lagos.

Recall that Truth Live News had reported earlier that operatives of DSS had stormed the EFCC premises, claiming ownership of the building and stopping officials from accessing their workplace.

Gunshots were also said to have been heard earlier today in the area.

Following the development, the president in a statement via his media aide Tunde Rahman, the President asked the DSS to quit the premises.

According to the president, “if there were issues between the two important agencies of government, they would be resolved amicably.”

The DSS however denied the allegation saying “It is not correct that the DSS barricaded EFCC from entering its office. No. It is not true adding that the Service is only occupying its own facility where it is carrying out its official and statutory responsibility.”

It was gathered that that the DSS officials arrived in Lagos on Monday and parked on the road leading to the office of EFCC.

Officials of the anti-graft agency however thought they had come to maintain peace amid the ongoing inauguration until Tuesday morning when they stormed the building and took it over.
