Chief Dan Osi Orbih, the National Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (South-South), along with prominent PDP Chieftains, paid heartfelt tributes today to the late media mogul, Chief Raymond Dokpesi, the Founder of AIT, who passed away at the age of 70.
According to Truth Live News correspondent, who was on the entourage, Chief Dan Orbih was accompanied by Dr Mike Onolememen, the former Minister of Works and the Adolor of Uromi Kingdom; Hon. Chief Joe Edionwele, the member representing Esan Central/Esan West/Igueben federal constituency in the House of Representatives; Hon. Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, representing Oredo federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Fred Attah, PDP national Akoko-Edo, Comrade Dele Elempe and other PDP leaders from the South-South
Chief Dan Orbih expressed his condolences, describing Chief Dokpesi as a remarkable individual who dedicated himself to the affairs of the party. He emphasized the late Dokpesi’s commitment to the affairs of the party and Nigeria as a whole, praying for his eternal rest. Orbih recalled how he ensured that Dokpesi became a member of the PDP Board of Trustees.
He said: “He had always given to the party without asking for any position but when he showed interest in being a member of the BoT, I did so much to see that he got the seat because that was the least we could give to a man who had given much more for the party.
Hon. Chief Joe Edionwele shared his personal experiences with Chief Dokpesi and acknowledged the tremendous impact he had on him, the party, and Nigeria as a whole. He encouraged the rest of the family to follow in the footsteps of the late Chief.
Hon. Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama echoed the remarks expressed by his fellow honourable member, emphasizing that Chief Dokpesi’s demise is a significant loss to the country. He offered prayers for the acceptance of his soul, forgiveness of his sins, and eternal rest.
Dr Mike Onolememen described Chief Dokpesi as a multifaceted individual and a true asset to Nigeria, who gave a voice to the Nigerian populace by being the first private investor in broadcasting. Onolememen highlighted the many contributions of the late Chief Dokpesi to the progress of Nigeria and celebrated his remarkable life, saying he has left a lasting legacy behind. Dr. Onolememen prayed that God receives his soul, and requested comfort for the bereaved family.
