The Senate on Tuesday approved the request by presidential Bola Ahmed Tinubu to appoint 20 special advisers.

Tinubu’s request was read by the Senate president, Ahmad Lawan during the House plenary session.

Although the president did not mention the names of the appointees, the legislators did not waste time in giving their consent for the move.

Lawan noted that the need for the president to have a team to work with is of utmost urgency.

Recall that in the last one week of his assuming office, Tinubu has made series of appointments including that of the Chief of Staff in the person of Femi Gbajabiamila, Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia as deputy Chieft of Staff, George Akume as Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SFG) amongst others.
