Employment Saga: Gov. Otu Gives Conditions To Civil Servants, Suspends Ayade’s Recruitment Exercise

The Governor of Cross River State Sen Bassey Edet Otu, has said that inline with his governmment’s desire to reposition the state civil service, all civil servants must subject themselves to screening and documentation in the office of the secretary to State Governmment SSG, on the date yet to be announced.

A statement by the chief Press Secretary Emmanuel Ipole Ogbeche, said this is to enable the state government to plan effectively for the overall good of all workers.

Governor Otu, in the statement orders suspension of the ongoing recruitment of civil servants carried out by his predecessor till further notice.

He also directed that revalidation of all promotion for workers in the last six months should be done in the state.

Ogbeche, in the statement dated 6th of June 2023, with reference number GO/PRESS/005/VOL. 1/020, said that the governor has equally directed a reverification of all civil servants in the state service.
