The Student Loan Bill was enacted into law on Monday by President Bola Tinubu.
This was revealed to State House Correspondents on Monday evening in Abuja by the president’s media advisor, Dele Alake.
According to him, the plan will give students in the nation access to loans at zero percent interest for the duration of their education.
President Tinubu pledged to give youth education his entire attention in his acceptance address shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) proclaimed him the winner of the election on February 25.
He also promised to give tertiary institutions autonomy and to put an end to strikes in Nigeria’s universities.
