The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, has responded to a subpoena issued by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Atiku Abubakar, the PDP’s presidential candidate.
According to Politics Nigeria, Atiku and the PDP had requested that the INEC chairman hand over a number of important papers to the Presidential Election Petition Court.
This action was a result of their ongoing legal dispute over the presidential election.
Chris Uche, the petitioners’ attorney, informed the court at the Thursday court session that Yakubu was being represented by Morenikeji Tahiru, Deputy Director of the Certification and Complaints, Legal Drafting, and Clearance Department.
