Mmesoma Ejikeme, the Anambra state student who was accused of forging her JAMB result to get scholarship has spoken up.
Recall that the Joint Admission and matriculation Board (JAMB) had declared Ejikeme’s result as forged after the Anambra state government confirmed from the board before implementating its plan to sponsor her education as the highest scoring student in the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in the state.
Ejikeme who had 362 as her aggregate score being the highest in the state was awarded a scholarship of N3million by the Innoson Group.
Meanwhile, several Nigerians have called for a forensic investigation into the matter as both sides insisted on their stand.
A former Minister of Education, Dr. Obiageli Ezekwesili, demanded an independent forensic investigation.
According to her, said listening to Mmesoma in a viral video she made, where she narrated her own side of the story, made it imperative to request a forensic investigation to help reveal what really happened.
She also wrote in a tweet via her verified Twitter handle that she had reached out to the Registrar of JAMB, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, to carry out an independent investigation into the matter.
Her words: “This saga between Mmesoma Ejikeme and @JAMBHQ requires an Independent Tech investigation to unearth all facts. Listening to her in this video, it is reasonable to request a forensic-investigation to help reveal what really happened. I have reached out to the Registrar of JAMB.
“An Independent investigation would turn this curious episode into a Learning Opportunity for @JAMBHQ and everyone especially students.
