Romanus Ejikeme, the father of the candidate who falsified her UTME score, Mmesoma Ejikeme, has apologized to Nigerians and the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for his daughter’s terrible behavior.
Truthlive news reports that JAMB had last Sunday accused Mmesoma of manually inflating her 2023 UTME score from 249 to 362.
Mmesoma argued that her result was not falsified and mentioned that she printed it from the JAMB website.
As a result of her insistence, the Board slammed a three-year ban on her with the House of Representatives calling for a stay of action.
Mr. Ejikeme, in his part, argued that his daughter did not falsified her scores, claiming that she was a diligent and serious student who took her studies seriously. He also accused Jamb of prejudice and vowed to sue the board.
On Saturday, After the Anambra State Government committee of inquiry established to look into the controversy surrounding the JAMB result found Mmesoma guilty of forging her result without assistance, Mr. Ejikeme, in an interview with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) regretted his actions, saying that he was unaware that his daughter had lied to him.
“When I realised what she did, it was late . I regretted all my earlier actions on this matter.
“My daughter didn’t open up to me on time. She didn’t.
“When I realised the mistake she did, I blamed her a lot that she was not supposed to do such.Everyday, I tell her don’t dent your image because you are a star.
“As a father, I’m still apologising to JAMB and Nigerians to pardon her,” he said.
