Following allegation that the First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu ordered the closure of the Villa Chapel, a lawmaker representing Ado/Okpokwu/ Ogbadibo Federal Constituency of Benue State, Philip Agbese, has reacted.
Agbese who defended the First Lady described the allegations as “deleterious and despicable.
According to him, the First Lady is a “defender of Jesus Christ and his house”.
Earlier, a Twitter user @VeronicaaNaomi had acccused the First Lady of ordering the closure of the chapel.
Reason given by the Twitter user was that Remi’s directive is as a result of some undisclosed persons who did not support her husband, President Bola Tinubu, during the February 25 presidential election despite. which her husband emerged victorious.
The First Lady who has since debunked the allegation described it as “fabrication and false representation of the true situation.”
In a statement on Tuesday, Agbese said the First Lady has “sacrificed to the Body of Christ”.
The lawmaker stated that the First Lady is a strong woman of faith who is one of the leading and most vocal Christian voices in the nation.
“She went through the preparatory stages of Baptismal and workers in training classes before becoming a Pastor in 2018. Tinubu’s boldness, courage, and spiritual insights are similar to Esther’s in the Bible.”
Agbese, therefore, urged Nigerians to disregard the allegations, adding that it is aimed at distracting the First Lady and her husband.
He added that the motive of the author is to plant a seed of hatred in the hearts of Christians against the current administration, which will not germinate.
Furthermore, he emphasized that the time for politics of ethnicity, religion, and bias was in the past, urging all Nigerians to support President Tinubu.
