‘Please Enough With The Record-A-Thons,’ Guinness World Record Begs Those Making Fresh Attempts

Following the recent craze for ‘Records-A-Thon’ across the Nations and Nigeria in particular, the Guinness World Records has begged Nigerians and indeed everyone attempting to ‘record-a-thon’ enthusiasts to pedal low.

GWR made the plea while responding to one Love, Ajoke (@livingwithajoke) who had announced interest in attempting ‘puff-a-thon and idea-a-thon,’ onThreads.

The global verifying records body wrote: “Please enough with the record-a-thons.”

The British reference book also while also replying a tweeter user @instablog9ja, said, “We love the record-a-thon enthusiasm but we would suggest getting a record title approved by our team before attempting these marathon records!”

GWR is a British reference book published annually, listing world records both of human achievements and the extremes of the natural world.

Truth Live News had reported in July, GWR in a tweet advised prospective record breakers to properly confirm with the Guinness team before attempting to break any world record.

“Polite reminder that you should probably have your world record title confirmed by our team before attempting it,” the body tweeted.

Wiithin the space of two months, several Nigerians have made attempts to break some existing records as well as create fresh ones.

Just of recent one Chef Dammy Adeparusi hit her target of 120 hours of cooking amid jubilation from folks and criticisms from others in June at Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State.

 

Her attempt followed that of another Nigerian chef Hilda Baci, who had just broken the world record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.

However, on Tuesday a Nigerian masseuse, Joyce Ijeoma, who was attempting to set a Guinness World Record for the longest massage on different individuals, reportedly collapse.

The 72-hour massage-a-thon attempt was ongoing in the Ikate, Lekki area of Lagos State.
