President Bola Tinubu is set to appoint the Lagos State Head of Service, Hakeem Muri-Okunola, as his Principal Private Secretary (PPS).
While it is unknown what his job function would be as a PPS to the president since Tinubu already Has a chief of staff, Muri-Okunola will soon be named for the position a report by the Cable said.
Truth Live News recalls that 51-year-old Muri-Okunola also known as HMO was personal assistant to Tinubu between 2003 and 2005 when he was governor of Lagos State.
Muri-Okunola who is the son of late Justice Muritala Okunola was later appointed as executive secretary of the land use and allocation committee.
Similarly, HMO became permanent secretary in 2011, 10 years after joining the civil service, and was posted to the Lands Bureau in the Governor’s Office.
Currently, he is the Head of Service since December 2018 a position he took over from Folashade Adesoye.
Going down memory lane, this media platform recalls that President Umaru Musa Yar’Adau in 2007 appointed a PPS thus abolishing the office of the chief of staff.
However, President Goodluck Jonathan had a chief of staff in addition to a “principal secretary” without the “private.”
The job function of a PPS is said to be similar to or same as that of the chief of staff.
