A fraudulent individual named David Samuel has been apprehended by the Jigawa state police command. The suspect, who had posed as a doctor, confessed to his fraudulent activities upon being arrested. He revealed that he had dropped out of Usman Danfodiyo University in Sokoto state and subsequently forged a degree, a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate, and a medical certificate from the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) in order to practice medicine.
Truth Live News learnt about this incident from a recent report from the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA).
The state’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Lawan Shiisu, confirmed the incident in a statement. He explained that the arrest was made after receiving a tip-off, and the police, in collaboration with the Department of State Services (DSS) Jigawa State Command, raided a pharmaceutical store located in Sabuwar Takur, Dutse metropolitan area. The suspect, who claimed to be affiliated with the Rasheed Shekoni Teaching Hospital in Dutse, was apprehended at the store.
The PPRO further stated that upon investigation at the State Criminal Investigations Department (SCID), it was discovered that the fraudulent doctor had been providing medical consultations, prescribing medications, and offering home services to unsuspecting victims. After a thorough investigation, he will face charges and be prosecuted in court.
