A nursing mother identified as Emem Emmanuel, from Itu LGA who had a baby boy three weeks ago and could not settle her hospital bill got emotional when she was informed by the hospital management that her bills would be cleared by the wife of the governor Pastor Patience Umo Eno.
Pastor Eno paid an unscheduled visit to St. Luke’s Hospital, Anua, Uyo to share in the joy of mothers of new born babies.
On arrival she was received by the Chief Medical Director of the Hospital, Dr. Njoku Isaac and Matron Eno – Eno Effiong, who directed her to the post delivery wards of the healthcare facility.
Governmment house media unit reports that the First Lady had reached out to at least 25 nursing mothers and their babies with financial support and gifts and out of them four were expectant mothers who were at the ward at the time of the visit.
The governor’s wife took to her official Facebook page on Saturday to express her feelings over the babies and their mothers especially on the mother of twin Mrs. Ofonime Effiong Udo, from Ibesikpo Asutan LGA. South South Nigeria.
“Ofonime from Ibesikpo Asutan and her twins – a boy and a girl are doing well,” she said “the innocence of new born babies. I couldn’t resist the urge to cuddle this baby and pray that he grows into his purpose and destiny.”

Responding on behalf of the Administrator of the Hospital and the entire staff, the Chief Medical Director of the Hospital, Dr. Njoku Isaac, thanked the Governor’s Wife for making out time from her very busy schedule to visit and donate to the nursing mothers.
Pastor Eno, who visited the hospital in company of other women said “these amazing women accompanied me to St. Luke’s Hospital Anua.”
Accompanying the Governor’s wife on the visit were, the Wife of the Speaker, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly ( AKHA), Mrs. Margaret Otong, Wife of the Secretary to State Government, Mrs Inemesit Uwah, Fromer Deputy Speaker, AKHA, Rt. Hon. Felicia Bassey, Board Chairman, State Secondary Education Board, Rt. Hon. Ekaette Ebong Okon, Female Commissioners Designate, Female Chairmen of Council, Vice Chairmen of Council and others.
Highpoints were presentation of Packs for the mothers and cash gift among others.
