WhatsApp has introduced a new capability that allows users to share their screens while engaged in video calls. The CEO of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, unveiled this feature, known as “Screen Share,” on Tuesday. This enhancement enables users to share various items such as documents and photos, among other things, while participating in a video call.

Zuckerberg remarked, “We are incorporating the option to share your screen while engaged in a video call on WhatsApp.”

Meta provided a description of this feature, stating, “Whether you’re sharing work documents, browsing through family photos, planning a vacation, shopping online with friends, or assisting grandparents with technical matters — screen sharing provides the ability to present a real-time view of your screen throughout the call.

To engage screen sharing, you can initiate it by clicking on the ‘Share’ icon and then selecting either a specific application or the entire screen for sharing.”

Additionally, the company pointed out that users can now conduct video calls in landscape mode, departing from the previous restriction of portrait mode for such calls.
